I know photoshop / illustrator seem to be the norm in the design field, but does anybody use something else? I hear there are some free alternatives on the net that do a pretty good job.

I"m using Corelsuite X4, use corel from version 4 and are happy with it. It's not cheap but workd fine.Rob E

- Report ThisGIMP is free. A couple of cool filters. The fractal filter I just discovered is pretty cool. Also, I think as an open source program, people will keep adding cool filters faster than Adobe can. Worth a "looksee."
